New Delhi: Amid growing tension within the Congress party, the BJP has ralled around opposition MP Shashi Tharoor, who is facing criticism from its own colleagues on the comments made during an international delegation visit. Tharoor’s statements have appreciated India’s recent anti -terrorism attacks, giving rise to sharp reactions from fellow Congress leader Udit Raj, which BJP leaders questioned the Congress’ stance on the national interest.Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday faced X to condemn the grand old party, which responded to Udit Raj’s criticism of Tharoor. While sharing a video, Rijiju questioned the party’s priorities: “Congress’s Hath Ki Sath? Is the Congress Party Pisces Bolna Maina of the country?” He posted in Hindi.“We Indians should speak in one voice at least important time,” he said.In another post, Rijiju intensified his criticism, “What does the Congress party want and how much do they really care about the country? Do Indian MPs should go to foreign nation and speak against India and its Prime Minister? There is a limit to political frustration!”BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonwalla echoed Rijiju’s sentiments, alleging that Congress leader Udit Raj was targeting Tharoor under the influence of Rahul Gandhi. He implicated the row as a case of internal sabotage. “Shashi Tharoor is being attacked at the behest of Rahul Gandhi as Shashi Tharoor did not put India earlier (Gandhi) family. He talked about national interest, not in his party’s interest. He is being attacked as he placed a national policy on vote bank (politics),” Poonwalla told PTI.He accused the Congress on hypocrisy: Launching “missiles in missiles” abroad, claiming support for armed forces at an all-party meeting.He said, “Congress, who is starting missiles in its leader, will not say a word against Pakistan.”The line stems from Tharoor’s recent comments during an official address in Panama, where he was representing India as part of a multi-faceted delegation. Tharoor talked about India’s anti-terrorism currency, which mentions major military operations.“What has changed in recent years is that terrorists have also felt that they will have a price to pay; there is no doubt on it.
