A coalition by the Democratic Attorney General of 19 states has sued US President Donald Trump on his recent executive order on voting, it is called an unconstitutional overache that threatens State control on elections,

According to the news agency Associated Press, the trial states, “The President has no power to do so. Election EOs are unconstitutional, contradictory and United Nations-American.” This wants to block the major provisions of the order, including a requirement that voters provide documentary evidence of citizenship when registering and a rule, saying that all mail-in ballots are obtained on election days.
Trump, who has long questioned the validity of US elections, claims that the order is necessary to prevent voter fraud. However, no evidence of widespread fraud has been found in election officials and several studies.
According to NPR.ORG, the previous audit has shown that the cases of nonsense voting are extremely rare.
New York Attorney General Latitia James condemned the order, calling it “a powerful power grab”. Road Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said Trump was “trying to reduce elections and reduce the Congress.”
The lawsuit supported by state officials including California, Michigan, New York and Wisconsin argues that Trump’s order illegally asked states to change their election laws or risk losing federal money.
